Most villages and towns in the inland Málaga region will have a weekly market. Where local vendors and farmers come to sell fresh local produce, clothes, flowers and other miscellaneous items.
The mercadillos vary in size depending on the village of town, the larger the town, the larger the market and the more selection there will be.
Setting up from around 08.30 and begin packing up at roughly 14.00, they are a great way of meeting new people in the area and supporting local businesses. Definitely worth checking out.
The days of the Málaga inland markets are:
Ahuarin el Grande – Thursday
Alhaurin de la Torre – Wednesday
Alora – Monday
Cartama – Sunday
Coín – Saturday
Guaro – Thursday
Monda – Tuesday
Pizarra – Thursday
Ojen – Saturday
Tolox – Wednesday
Yunquera – Friday

Dont forget the GREAT Fruit and veg ( No bananas ) market held every Sunday morning at the new site just past the BP garage at La Troche … You have a huge advertising board on the site !! A good photograph showing local produce would be good . Mainly Spanish people use this !!
Thanks for your comment Sally, you’re right! I definitely forgot to mention that one, they do great fresh orange juice!
Yunquera market is on Friday.
