Museum profile: The Picasso Museum

It’s not a greatly known fact that one of history’s most well-known and well-loved artists, Pablo Ruiz Picasso, was born right here in Málaga and, in the busy central streets of the city, you will find the official Picasso Musuem.

The museum includes famous works of art such as ‘Olga Kokhlova with Mantilla’ (Barcelona 1917), ‘Mother and Child’ (1921-1922) and ‘Portrait of Paulo with white hat’ (1923), there are also many sketches and ceramics on display. There are also many temporary exhibitions that you can find out about on the official website.

March to June: 10:00 – 19:00 hrs.

July to August : 10:00 – 20:00 hrs.

September to October: 10:00 – 19:00 hrs.

November to February: 10:00 – 18:00 hrs.

Closed Christmas Day and New Years Day and 6th January.

Christmas Eve and New Years Eve and 5th Jan: 10:00 – 15:00.

Tickets are on sale up to 30 minutes before closing time. Visitors will be asked to begin leaving the galleries 10 minutes before closing time.

Admission Fee:

Permanent Collection 8.00 euro

Temporary Exhibitions 5.50 euro

Combined entrance 10.00 euro

Admission is half price for Senior citizens and students up to 26 years with valid student ID

Free admission:

Youths under 18 years.

Children 12 and under must be acompanied by an adult.

Holders of EURO < 26 Youth Card

ICOM Members.

Unemployed registered at SEPE

Free admision on Sundays for the last two opening hours (entrance up to 30 minutes before closing time)

The entrance fee includes an audio guide, available in nine languages: Spanish, English, German, French, Italian, Dutch, Russian, Japanese and Chinese.
